DICKEY BROADCASTING COMPANY has gotten a slap from the FCC in the form of a Consent Decree fining the company $8,000 for unauthorized transfer of control of DBC, licensee of Sports WCNN-A (680 THE FAN)/NORTH ATLANTA, Sports WIFN-A (THE FAN 3)/ATLANTA, and Sports WFOM-A (THE SPORTS X)/MARIETTA, GA, from the late LEWIS W. DICKEY, SR. to the LEWIS W. DICKEY, SR. IRREVOCABLE CHILDREN’S TRUST, with his sons LEW JR. and DAVID DICKEY as trustees, in 2000 without notifying the Commission at the time.
The company finally filed for transfer of control on MARCH 2nd of this year, acknowledging the transfer, saying that the children were unaware that their father had 100% and not 99% ownership of the company at the time of the transfer, and asking for approval nunc pro tunc back to 2010, which the Commission has denied.
