CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP (CMG) Innovation Center, CAPITOL360, and startup accelerator GENER8TOR have partnered to launch a new music technology accelerator program, gBETA MUSICTECH, on SEPTEMBER 6th. Housed in the CAPITOL RECORDS TOWER in HOLLYWOOD, the program will provide participating startups with mentorship and exclusive access to music industry resources.
gBETA MUSICTECH will operate under GENER8TOR’s “gBETA” model -- a seven-week program requiring no fees and no equity. Five companies will be selected for the program; they will work closely with successful entrepreneurs, music industry experts, angel investors, venture capitalists, technologists, acclaimed producers, songwriters, and influencers to develop strategies to grow, gain customer traction and pitch investors.
Three more musictech companies will be selected to participate in an existing gBETA program of their choice in one of the following cities: BELOIT, CINCINNATI, DETROIT, INDIANAPOLIS, MADISON, MILWAUKEE, or MINNEAPOLIS. They will receive the same mentorship and programming without traveling to LA.
“We’re excited to continue building on the momentum of our newly launched CAPITOL360 Innovation Center, by working with GENER8TOR to transform the amazing ideas that come out of THE TOWER into businesses that will help the music industry continue to innovate and evolve,” CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP CEO GEOFFREY HARRIS said.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with industry icon CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP,” GENER8TOR Co-Founder JOE KIRGUES said. “As GENER8TOR seeks to expand into the creative economy with our new music and art programs, Backline and Fellowship.art, and CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP launches their CAPITOL360 Innovation Center to work more closely with emerging technology, gBETA MUSICTECH helps bridge all our efforts. We’re thrilled to begin working with the startups helping us cross the chasm into these new ecosystems, and are ready to support them with both our networks.”
Applications for the program are currently being accepted and are open exclusively to startups focused on music technology. Interested companies can apply at gBETAMusictech.com/apply.
