Tributes from across the radio industry are coming in to honor the late Sen. JOHN MCCAIN (R-AZ), who passed away SATURDAY (8/25).
NAB's Smith: McCain 'A Force Of Nature'
NAB President/CEO GORDON SMITH, a former colleague of MCCAIN's in the Senate, said, “Sen. MCCAIN was a force of nature, whether defending his country in war or fighting for democratic values at home and abroad. I count myself lucky to have served in the U.S. Senate with this war hero, political icon, and American patriot. The history books will be kind to JOHN MCCAIN because our country is so much better for his straight talk, common sense, maverick ways and passionate service. Rest well, my friend.”
Salem Airs Special Series
SALEM RADIO NETWORK's SRN NEWS and TOWNHALL NEWS are airing a week-long special series, "JOHN MCCAIN: AMERICAN MAVERICK," beginning TODAY (8/27). The series will air multiple times daily on both news services. SRN VP/News & Talk Programming TOM TRADUP said, “From his legendary military service to his ongoing courageous battle with glioblastoma, JOHN MCCAIN has inspired AMERICA as a fighter. Our week-long special series features observations from some of Senator MCCAIN’s admirers as well as his detractors… each of whom acknowledge that—now that he has passed—his place in history will be assured.”
