CUMULUS wins a court ruling that may force HOKE COUNTY, NC commissioners to approve a new tower for its Oldies WFVL (OLDIES 106.9 AND 102.3)/SOUTHERN PINES-FAYETTEVILLE, NC.
The new tower, moving the station 15 miles closer to FAYETTEVILLE, was approved by the FCC and FAA but rejected by the county in 2005, prompting the lawsuit. CUMULUS won a court ruling in OCTOBER of last year, and the county appealed, leading to an appeal and TUESDAY's appellate court ruling. The station is in CHRISTMAS-music mode right now and simulcasts on sister WFNC-F/LUMBERTON-FAYETTEVILLE.
