BAS BROADCASTING/SANDUSKY, OH News Director STEVE SHOFFNER has taken himself off the air through ELECTION DAY because he's on the ballot himself, reports the SANDUSKY REGISTER.
SHOFFNER is running for ERIE COUNTY Commissioner and posted at his FACEBOOK page, "I am still employed and working at the radio stations, but I have made the decision to remove my voice from the airwaves until after the election. There are no laws, rules or regulations that force me off the air. The decision was made only by the radio station owners and myself. No one else was consulted and no one else had any say in the matter." He said he is continuing to work at the station off the air and will return to the air "soon after the election."
In other election news, station owner BILL COLEMAN has won the Republican primary for the State Senate in OKLAHOMA, which practically guarantees his election to the state house in NOVEMBER. COLEMAN owns Classic Hits KLOR, Country KPNC-F (101 COUNTRY), and Sports KOKP-A-KOKB-A-K227DK (TRIPLE PLAY SPORTS)/PONCA CITY, OK.
