NPR announced three new upcoming podcasts at the IAB Podcast Upfront in NEW YORK TODAY (9/6).
The new shows include a mini-series on the LARRY NASSAR U.S. gymnastics sexual abuse scandal, "BELIEVED," hosted by KATE WELLS and LINDSEY SMITH of MICHIGAN RADIO and coming this OCTOBER; "PRIMER," a look at the historical background underlying current news, hosted by RUND ABDELFATAH and RAMTIN ARABLOUEI, coming in FEBRUARY; and a civil rights cold case podcast looking at a murder and a community's silence, coming in early 2019.
"We're thrilled to be doubling down on original investigation and storytelling from great public radio journalists and beyond," said VP for Programming and Audience Development ANYA GRUNDMANN. "Each of these projects uncovers truths and grapples with questions about what the past can tell us about our world today."
