NPR has upped COO LOREN MAYOR to Pres./Operations. MAYOR joined NPR six years ago from PBS and served as SVP/Strategy before being named COO; before PBS, she worked at the CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING and MCKINSEY AND CO. Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel JON HART and Interim Chief Human Resources Officer GRACIELA MONTGOMERY now report to MAYOR.
NPR Pres./ CEO JARL MOHN said, "LOREN is recognized both inside NPR and across the public radio system for her deep commitment to public media and her rare ability to both set and execute vision, turning aspirations into measurable outcomes. Because of LOREN, we are in a better position to achieve the goals in our strategic plan, fulfill our mission and prepare NPR for the next 50 years in our history."
"NPR is an essential institution in this country and in the world. The work we do matters to millions of people every day. Personally, I am grateful to be at a place filled with so many curious, passionate and principled people," said MAYOR. "I look forward to working together with our board, our Member stations and our staff to fulfill NPR's mission to inform, challenge, delight and enlighten the American public. We strive every day to connect people to each other, to their communities and to people around the globe, with the hope that our work helps to strengthen our democracy and make the world a better place."
In addition, VP/Programming and Audience Development ANYA GRUNDMANN has been upped to SVP/Programming and Audience Development and VP/Member Partnership GEMMA HOOLEY has been promoted to SVP/Member Partnership.
