ALPHA MEDIA LICENSEE LLC is selling Country WHKX/BLUEFIELD-WHQX/GARY, WV (106.3-107.7 KICKS COUNTRY); Hot AC WHAJ (J104), Classic Hip Hop WKEZ-A-W254CV (G98.7), and News-Talk WHIS-A/BLUEFIELD, WV; and Classic Rock WKOY (EAGLE 100.9)/PRINCETON, WV to CHARLES R. SPENCER III and RICK LAMBERT's FIRST MEDIA SERVICES, LLC for $1.825 million.
The buyer owns Country WELC-A/WELCH, WV; Country WAMN-A-W233CL-W247BO (WILLIE 94.5)/GREEN VALLEY, WV; WKQR (92.7 KISS FM)/MULLENS, WV; Hot AC WKQB (MIX 102.9)/POCAHONTAS, WV; and a permit for W227DU/WELCH, WV.
In other filings with the FCC, IDAHO CONFERENCE OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS, INC. is selling KTSJ/MENAN, ID to HI-LINE RADIO FELLOWSHIP, INC. for $20,000.
GERALD R. PROCTOR is selling K237HB/HUNTSVILLE, TX to CARLOS LOPEZ for $40,000. The primary station is listed as STAR RADIO NETWORK Country KIVY-F/CROCKETT, TX.
NEWMAN BROADCASTING, INC. has requested a Silent STA for WJTK/COLUMBIA CITY, FL, telling the FCC it expects the appointment of a receiver.
And TEMPLO NUEVA VIDA, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for low power KORM-LP/CORONA, CA after discovering that part of a phone line used to send programming from a new studio location to the transmitter had been removed.
Also, GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE's WSGN/GADSDEN, AL is ending its simulcast of UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA BIRMINGHAM News-Talk-Classical-Jazz WBHM/BIRMINGHAM on SEPTEMBER 30th after 25 years and is being sold. WBHM reports that the station is being sold to a "nonprofit, faith-based broadcaster" and that it was offered a chance to bid on the station but could not match the price. WBHM will continue the simulcast on W283CM/FORT PAYNE, AL in the northern portion of the WSGN coverage area and WBHM's primary signal reaches the western and southern portion of the GADSDEN area.
