  FEMA and the FCC have postponed the national test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), originally scheduled for THURSDAY (9/20), to WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd, the backup date.
  
  The change was necessitated by HURRICANE FLORENCE; the test will now begin at 2:18p (ET) on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd with the WEA test, followed by the EAS portion at 2:20p (ET).
