ENTERCOM Talk simulcast WORD-A & WYRD-A (NEWSRADIO WORD)/GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG is all over the place for the holiday season, involved with several charity drives. With the SALVATION ARMY, the station is collecting new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged kids in the area. WORD is also part of a campaign to send CHRISTMAS cards to V.A. hospital patients this year and is co-sponsoring the ROPER MOUNTAIN SCIENCE CENTER's annual CHRISTMAS light display, giving away free car passes to the event.
On the air, the station will carry WESTSTAR TALKRADIO NETWORK's MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER special "AN AMERICAN CHRISTMAS" on CHRISTMAS EVE and CHRISTMAS DAY, and will lead into that with the "12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS" features. Listeners will also be able to win "stocking stuffer" prize packages with MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER CDs, a CHRISTMAS gift basket, and "ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" and "GOMER PYLE, USMC" DVD collections.
