THURSDAY morning brought no new station transactions to the FCC database.
In filings that did make it to the FCC, CLASSIC BROADCASTING, INC. has applied for an STA to operate AC WMRO-A (MAGIC 1560)/GALLATIN, TN with a long-wire antenna at a temporary site after losing its licensed site.
GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE has filed for a Silent STA for WSGN/GADSDEN, AL, which ended its simulcast of UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA BIRMINGHAM News-Talk-Classical-Jazz WBHM/BIRMINGHAM on SEPTEMBER 30th and is now without a program source while a sale of the station pends.
And ROD LIECHTI's BRUTE FORCE RADIO, LLC has closed on the sale of News-Talk KBEL-A and Country KBEL-F/IDABEL, OK to DAVID SMULYAN's KBEL COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $230,000 plus an LMA before closing.
Also, CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has turned in its license for K220FW/SELDOVIA, AK.
The Commission also designated the application of MINISTERIOS EL JORDAN for modification of KEJM-LP/CARTHAGE, MO due to alleged misrepresentation in various applications, foreign ownership of over 1/5 of its stock, and failure to maintain the continuing accuracy and completeness of information in its still pending application for modification of the station, as well as failure to respond to FCC requests for information. A complaint alleged that the five members of the licensee named in the applications were in fact Guatemalan citizens rather than Americans as listed in the applications, one had become a U.S. citizen in 2016 (after the station was licensed), and that one of the named members had been deported while another member was the subject of a federal case that referred to him as a Guatemalan citizen.
