RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC RADIO has rebranded as "THE PUBLIC'S RADIO."

The new name accompanies the recent move of the network's primary station, WNPN (formerly WUMD and, since RIPR's acquisition of the station in 2017 from the UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS DARTMOUTH, WXNI)/NEWPORT, to a new location, the tower of crosstown ABC affiliate WLNE-TV (ABC6) at TIVERTON, near the MASSACHUSETTS-RHODE ISLAND border.
