Vox AM/FM, LLC Buys WXXX (95 Triple X)-WVMT/Burlington, VT

Vermont Deal

In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, VOX AM/FM, LLC is buying Top 40 WXXX (95 TRIPLE X)/SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT and News-Talk WVMT-A/BURLINGTON, VT from SISON BROADCASTING, INC. for an undisclosed price.  VOX, owner of Hot AC WEZF (STAR 92.9)/BURLINGTON, Sports WCPV (101.3 THE GAME)/ESSEX, NY-BURLINGTON-PLATTSBURGH, Top 40/Rhythmic WXZO (HOT 97 FM)/WILLSBORO, NY-BURLINGTON, Sports WEAV-A (960 THE ZONE)/PLATTSBURGH, and Classic Hits WVTK/PORT HENRY, NY in the BURLINGTON-PLATTSBURGH market, will take over operations under an LMA starting JANUARY 1st.  DOUG FERBER of DEFcom ADVISORS served as exclusive broker for the deal.

Meanwhile, no new station transactions appeared in the FCC database MONDAY morning (10/15), although one station has landed in the hands of a court-appointed receiver.

MARK C. HEALY has been appointed receiver for NEWMAN BROADCASTING, INC., licensee of WJTK/COLUMBIA CITY, FL, in an involuntary assignment under a FLORIDA court order.

VANGUARD MEDIA LLC has applied for an STA to continue to operate KRKE-F/ALBUQUERQUE from a new site after it purchased the station and discovered the licensed main facility did not exist and the antenna had been removed.  The station has negotiated a lease for the new site but needs to do tower work before the permanent facility is established.

KEWEENAW BAY BROADCASTING, INC. has filed for an STA to operate WEGZ/WASHBURN, WI at reduced power due to antenna repairs.

HANSZEN BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Classic Country KPXI/OVERTON, TX to the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY AND A&M COLLEGE for $350,000.

And JOE WEBER's JW BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Religion (formerly News-Talk) WCFO-A (THE QUEST)/EAST POINT, GA-ATLANTA to ATLANTA CATHOLIC RADIO, INC. is $500,000 for all non-real estate assets and $250,000 for the real estate.  MEDIA SERVICES GROUP's EDDIE ESSERMAN represented the seller in the deal.

The FCC has also closed its WASHINGTON headquarters TODAY (10/15) due to water damage.

And the Commission also canceled the licenses of BEST MEDIA, INC. for W207BI/UNIVERSITY PARK, IL and W206BL/MT. PROSPECT, IL; HISPANIC TARGET MEDIA INC. for KPQC/CARRIZOZO, NM and KPQH/TULAROSA, NM; LIVING PROOF INC. for KWTM/JUNE LAKE, CA; ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE for KVRM-LP/BILLINGS, MT; and CALVARY CHAPEL SOUTH ANCHORAGE (KVBV-LP/ANCHORAGE, AK).
