Condolences to family and friends of longtime WMAL-A/WASHINGTON late-night host BILL MAYHUGH, who died OCTOBER 12th at 91, according to the WASHINGTON POST.
MAYHUGH began his radio career in 1949 at WFAX-A/FAIRFAX, VA and worked at WPIK-A/ALEXANDRIA, VA and WGAY-A and WOL-A/WASHINGTON; he first joined WMAL in 1953, then moved to WOL for eight years before taking over the "ALL NIGHT SHOW" in 1964, hosting for 29 years, during which he also became known for extensive charity work, including the annual Leukemia Radiothon.
A celebration of MAYHUGH's life is scheduled for NOVEMBER 18th 1-4p (ET) at NORBECK COUNTRY CLUB in ROCKVILLE, MD.
