Gibson Guitar Brands Appoints New Leadership Team

Emerging From Bankruptcy

NASHVILLE-based GIBSON BRANDS, INC. has named former LEVI STRAUSS President JAMES "JC" CURLEIGH President/CEO for the iconic guitar brand, which has been crafting instruments for 124 years. Additionally, GIBSON announced CESAR GUEIKIAN as Chief Merchant Officer (CMO); KIM MATOON as Chief Financial Officer (CFO); and CHRISTIAN SCHMITZ as Chief Production Officer (CPO).

All four appointments to GIBSON's new leadership team are effective THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, when GIBSON is set to emerge from bankruptcy protection. Back in MAY, the company filed for Chapter 11 in U.S. bankruptcy court in DELAWARE, after reportedly being saddled with more than $500 million in loans. A restructuring agreement allowed GIBSON to continue operating with a renewed focus on musical instruments (NET NEWS 5/1).
