Jack Daniel Named PD At WSOC & 94.7 Smoke/Charlotte; 'SOC Taps Big Sexy As APD, Mimi Wheeler Remains As MD

BEASLEY MEDIA Country WSOC and Southern Rock WBCN-A/translator W234BY (94.7 SMOKE)/CHARLOTTE, NC has named JACK DANIEL as PD. DANIEL succeeds DJ STOUT, who resigned in AUGUST (NET NEWS 8/16). With more than 47 years of experience in the radio industry, and as a presence on CHARLOTTE airwaves since 1975, DANIEL has a history that includes time as PD, VP, GM, OM, MD, and on-air personality. DANIEL will also continue his role as afternoon personality for Top 40 sister WKQC/CHARLOTTE.

Concurrently, PHILIP "BIG SEXY" TABAKELIS rises to APD, and MIMI WHEELER continues as MD. BIG SEXY has been with WSOC since 2006 and will continue as host of "THE BIG SEXY SHOW," which airs on WSOC each weeknight. WHEELER was upped to MD in SEPTEMBER following the departure of RICK MCCRACKEN (NET NEWS 9/10). She will continue as co-host of the "TANNER IN THE MORNING SHOW" as well as handling APD/Digital duties.
