iHeartMedia Spinoff Trusts Get New Trustee, Two More Stations Being Divested

OCEAN STATION TRUST LLC, the iHEARTMEDIA spinoff trust holding the licenses of Spanish Hits WKOX-A (RUMBA 1430)/EVERETT-BOSTON, MA, Contemporary Christian KTDD/EATONVILLE-TACOMA, WA, and Smooth Jazz KFNY/CENTRALIA, WA, and ALOHA STATION TRUST, LLC, holding the licenses for 13 stations, both trusts with BILLIE DRAKE having succeeded the late JEANETTE TULLY as trustee, are transferring the licenses to new trusts, OCEAN STATION TRUST II LLC and ALOHA STATION TRUST II LLC, with BARRY DRAKE as trustee. In making the transfer, the TULLY estate said that it "now wishes to assign the licensees to a new entity that will be controlled by an experienced radio broadcaster."
The ALOHA trusts hold the licenses for News-Talk WFMD/FREDERICK, MD; Country WFRE (FREE COUNTRY 99.9 WFRE)/FREDERICK, MD; Adult Hits WSFF/VINTON-ROANOKE, VA-WSNZ/LYNCHBURG, VA (106.1/101.7 STEVE FM); Country WLRX (107.1 THE BEAR)/IRONTON, OH-HUNTINGTON, WV; News-Talk WZZW-A/MILTON, WV; Classic Rock WEKL (EAGLE 102.3)/AUGUSTA, GA; Classic Hits WWRW (REWIND 105.5)/MOUNT STERLING-LEXINGTON, KY; Country WYDB (B94.5)/ENGLEWOOD-DAYTON, OH; Classic Hits WRZX (BIG 106.5)/GREENVILLE, OH; Classic Hits KRRZ-A/MINOT, ND; '80s KABQ-F /BOSQUE FARMS-ALBUQUERQUE, NM; and Sports WIRO-A (FOX SPORTS 1230)/IRONTON, OH-HUNTINGTON, WV.
In addition, CITICASTERS LICENSES, INC., as debtor-in-possession, and AMFM RADIO LICENSES, L.L.C., also as debtor-in-possession, are transferring their licenses for Country KSNR (100.3 CAT COUNTRY)/FISHER, MN-GRAND FORKS, ND and Rock WHFX (SOLID ROCK 107.7 THE FOX)/DARIEN-BRUNSWICK, GA, respectively, to SUN AND SNOW STATION TRUST LLC with DRAKE as trustee, as divestitures required by the change in control of parent iHEARTMEDIA as it emerges from bankruptcy.
In other filings with the FCC, HAUGO BROADCASTING, INC. has applied for an STA to operate KXMZ/BOX ELDER, ND from a temporary site after losing its lease.
COVENANT NETWORK has filed for an STA to operate WOLG/CARLINVILLE, IL at reduced power due to transmitter failure.
VICTORIA THEATRE PROJECT has requested an STA to operate low power WVIC-LP/ST. PAUL, MN from the site an application for which was dismissed by the FCC, with the licensee saying that it believes the Commission erred in dismissing its initial application.
METALS BROADCASTING CO., INC. has applied for a Silent STA for KWAL/WALLACE, ID "due to the lack of programming and personnel to operate the station."
KIMU-LP has filed for a Silent STA for low power KIMU-LP/STOCKTON, CA "for reassessment and planning of upgrades to facility, system security, and program feed."
FMI MEDIA, INC. has closed on the sale of KCNL/QUARTZSITE, AZ to MARVIN VOSPER for $70,000.
And HOLIDAY BROADCASTING has closed on the sale of Country KRJC-F and K255CE/ELKO, NV to PAUL GARDNER's ELKO RADIO COMPANY for $300,000.
It's not radio, but SCRIPPS, which is soon to close on the sale of the last of its radio stations and has retained podcast operation STITCHER/MIDROLL MEDIA/EARWOLF and purchased TRITON DIGITAL, is buying 15 TV stations in 10 markets from CORDILLERA COMMUNICATIONS for $521 million. The stations are NBC affiliates WLEX-TV/LEXINGTON, KOAA-TV/COLORADO SPRINGS, KSBY-TV/SAN LUIS OBISPO, KRIS-TV/CORPUS CHRISTI, KTCF-TV/GREAT FALLS, MT, and KTVH-TV/HELENA, MT; CBS affiliates KPAX-TV/MISSOULA, MT, KAJJ-CD/KALISPELL, MT, KTVQ-TV/BILLINGS, MT, KXLF-TV/BUTTE, MT, KBZK-TV/BOZEMAN, MT, KRTV/GREAT FALLS, MT, and KXLH-LD/HELENA, MT; ABC affiliate KATC-TV/LAFAYETTE, LA; and TELEMUNDO affiliate K47DF-D (KAJA)/CORPUS CHRISTI.
The FCC also issued a Notice of Unlicensed Operation to 1325 REALTY LLC (93.1 FM, BROOKLYN).
