CRAWFORD BROADCASTING is moving formats around in BIRMINGHAM, and the result appears to be the demise of the News-Talk format on WYDE-A-F (SUPERSTATION 101). Religion WXJC-A-F-W245CS (THE TRUTH) will move to WYDE's full-market 101.1 FM signal while continuing on its present 850 AM signal; WXJC's present FM signal, licensed to CORDOVA, is a rimshot to BIRMINGHAM from the west. Programming to air on the translator and what is presently WXJC-F has not been announced.
WYDE's hosts wrapped up their shows TODAY (11/2), and host MICHAEL HART is moving to the internet with "HART OF AMERICA"; ANDREW MCLAIN and JESSICA BORKLUND's "THE LINE" is ending and MCLAIN wrote on Facebook, "I don’t know if THE LINE will ever be back on public airwaves, but I do know, it was one hell of a ride."
Southern Gospel show "DIXIE GOSPEL CARAVAN" host MICKEY BELL said his farewell from WXJC on Facebook FRIDAY morning, saying that his departure is "all about the money" and thanking listeners for their support and CRAWFORD BROADCASTING for keeping the show on the air for 50 years, even after WAYNE WALLACE's death:
