CBS' '48 Hours' To Examine Family Battle In Casey Kasem's Final Days

The family battle that surrounded "AMERICAN TOP 40" legend CASEY KASEM's last days is the subject of this week's edition of "48 HOURS" on CBS television.  

The episode, “The Mysterious Death of CASEY KASEM,” reported by PETER VAN SANT, will air SATURDAY (11/24) at 10p (ET and PT) and will include interviews with widow JEAN KASEM and daughter KERRI KASEM, with each accusing the other of being complicit in CASEY's death and wanting only the estate's money.  JEAN KASEM and CASEY's children KERRI, JULIE, and MICHAEL have traded wrongful death lawsuits; on the show, while JEAN KASEM contends that she moved CASEY to WASHINGTON state to "protect her husband" from his children, "48 HOURS" obtained hospital records showing CASEY with a stage three ulcer of his back, septic shock, and respiratory failure after the children obtained a court order to allow them to take him to a hospital.
