Former Warner Bros. Nashville Exec. VP/GM Eddie Reeves Dies

EDDIE REEVES, a noted NASHVILLE label and music publishing executive, songwriter, and artist, died SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18th following a brief illness. He was 79. REEVES' career included a 16-year stint as GM for WARNER BROS. RECORDS NASHVILLE (now WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE), where he added the EVP title for his final ten years there. He also worked as VP of CHAPPELL MUSIC and, early in his career, as a song plugger for UNITED ARTISTS MUSIC.
As a songwriter, his hits included “All I Ever Need Is You,”recorded by SONNY & CHER; “Don’t Change On Me,” recorded by RAY CHARLES; and “Rings,” recorded by CYMARRON. He retired in 1999 and had been living in the HOUSTON area. He is survived by his wife, LENA, and three children. Full bio here.
