CONNOISSEUR MEDIA AC WKJY (K-98.3)/NASSAU-SUFFOLK (LONG ISLAND) morning host STEVE HARPER is calling it a career to devote full-time to his family and his own company, HARPER MARKETING. His nine-year stint at K98.3 was preceded by 26 years at WBLI/LONG ISLAND.

"It’s been an amazing radio ride that began as a nine-year old’s dream, becoming reality when I was 17," he tells ALL ACCESS. "Four decades filled with unforgettable memories of music, events and connecting us during every hurricane and snowstorm. And crazy moments, like the time I almost turned down a then-unknown boy band called NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK. Glad I said yes to them!

"I’ll truly miss being part of mornings for millions of amazing listeners," he continued. "It wasn’t a job ... it was like friends getting together. I’m looking forward to pursuing my passion to help people grow their business through marketing. Maybe I’ll be back on air someday but for now, I’ll be getting seven hours of sleep. I haven’t done that three days in a row since I was in 11th grade. Sleep is underrated!"
