The number of Sports stations on FM in MILWAUKEE has increased to three with the flip of iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 WRNW (97.3 NOW) to Sports as 97.3 THE GAME.
Local shows previously airing on sister Sports WOKY-A (THE BIG 920), including DREW OLSON with KEVIN BRANDT, "THE CROSSOVER" with DAN NEEDLES and TED DAVIS, "THE DOUBLE TEAM" with DARIO MELENDEZ and BOB BRAINERD, and MIKE HELLER, have moved to the FM side, while the AM continues with sister Sports WTSO-A (THE BIG 1070)/MADISON's MIKE LUCAS' morning show and FOX SPORTS RADIO programming. THE GAME will share UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN play-by-play with the AM side, and WESTWOOD ONE NFL playoff and SUPER BOWL coverage will also air on the FM; MILWAUKEE ADMIRALS minor league hockey, WESTWOOD ONE regular season NFL and NCAA men's basketball tournament coverage, NASCAR, and high school sports play-by-play stay on the AM.
“Sports talk in MILWAUKEE is about to change,” said WRNW and WTSO PD TIM SCOTT. “MILWAUKEE is more than just a great sports town and 97.3 THE GAME will reflect that.”
GOOD KARMA BRANDS recently acquired Country WKTI and flipped it to Sports as 94.1 ESPN, while ENTERCOM Sports WSSP-A added an FM translator simulcast on W289CB in 2014 as 105.7 THE FAN.
