Podcast publishing platform ANCHOR is adding an advertising element for users, with the launch of a new system that matches podcasts with potential advertisers.
ANCHOR Sponsorships, introduced TODAY (11/29), is intended to streamline the ad sales process by matching sponsors with podcasts based on factors like subject matter, audience size, and location. Users will be notified of matches and can opt in or out of a sale, and if the ad is accepted, ANCHOR's app can be used to record the spot or take a prerecorded version. Advertisers will be charged on a CPM basis and ANCHOR will take a 30% share.
