WVEZ (106.9 Play)/Louisville Gives Jesse & MJ’s Big Warm Hug

SUMMITMEDIA AC WVEZ (106.9 Play)/LOUISVILLE and morning duo JESSE & MJ collected over 1,300 new and used coats during the inaugural year of JESSE & MJ’S BIG WARM HUG. The coats will be donated to THE SALVATION ARMY, which will offer them to people up across KENTUCKIANA this winter.

Co-Host JESSE RAS lived inside of GREEN TREE MALL for from NOVEMBER 26th-30th in a storefront inside the mall. For that week, he lived without many of the conveniences of home including a stove, a TV, or a shower.

“JESSE AND MJ’S BIG WARM HUG has been one of the most amazing things I’ve been a part of," he said. "Living in the GREEN TREE MALL for five days allowed us to collect over 1,300 coats for those that need them in our community. One of the most powerful things I witnessed was someone taking off their own jacket and handing it to us saying ‘someone else needs it more than I do.’ I am still in awe of the generosity and compassion that KENTUCKIANA is filled with. I am proud to live and work here.”

“Because this was our first year doing this event, I didn’t know what to expect,” SUMMITMEDIA/LOUISVILLE OM CAGLE said. “I told myself I would be happy if we collected 500 coats and, because of the generosity of our listeners, we far exceeded that number. I am very proud of our listeners, JESSE and MJ and the rest of the SUMMITMEDIA crew that helped make this special event happen.”
