WNYC STUDIOS' latest podcast is a new short-form series about people's biggest fears. “10 THINGS THAT SCARE ME” is a podcast in a five-minute "audio listicle" format, with each episode featuring one person's top 10 list of what keeps them up at night, including celebrities and non-celebrities alike.
The series, which will post episodes every TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY, is debuting this week with music producer ROB LEWIS, former WHITE HOUSE Communications Director ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI, novelist OTTESSA MOSHFEGH, and dogsled racer BLAIR BRAVERMAN talking about their fears. Listeners can submit their own lists, which may be featured in future episodes.
“10 THINGS THAT SCARE ME is an experiment in empathy,” said WNYC STUDIOS VP of On Demand Content PAULA SZUCHMAN. “The show drops you right into the hidden world of a complete stranger whose fears invariably remind you of your own. These episodes are like little meditations, an opportunity to pause for a minute and feel connected to the people around you -- even people who feel a world away. Which isn’t actually scary at all.”
Among upcoming subjects are director PAUL FEIG, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's TOM MORELLO, author and CUMULUS News-Talk WJR-A/DETROIT host MITCH ALBOM, pro wrestler COLT CABANA, WNYC show and podcast hosts BROOKE GLADSTONE, ANNA SALE, KATHY TU, and JAD ABUMRAD, and former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security JANET NAPOLITANO, as well as a deli owner, a retired obituary writer, and others.
