The COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) announced plans to honor MESSINA TOURING GROUP CEO LOUIS MESSINA with its Touring Lifetime Achievement Award. Country music legend GEORGE STRAIT broke the news to MESSINA in a phone call on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30th. The award will be bestowed on MONDAY, JANUARY 28th, 2019 during the CMA Touring Awards at NASHVILLE’S MARATHON MUSIC WORKS. JERROD NIEMANN will return as host.
A 50-year industry veteran, MESSINA promotes the tours of such stars as KENNY CHESNEY, ERIC CHURCH, TIM MCGRAW and FAITH HILL, SHAWN MENDES, ED SHEERAN, BLAKE SHELTON, STRAIT, and TAYLOR SWIFT. The CMA Touring Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has accomplished the highest level in the Country music field of touring.
“I'm incredibly humbled by this honor from CMA and its membership,” said MESSINA. “Having GEORGE STRAIT call and tell me the news was so powerful, so meaningful, so special, and a moment I will always cherish. I'm especially proud of the team we've built and the clients we work for, and this distinction caps off an incredible year for us all. I remain thankful to so many people.”
