Following up YESTERDAY's news that ALPHA MEDIA is selling its BILOXI-GULFPORT cluster -- Sports WANG-A-WTNI-A (1490/1640 THE CHAMP) and W278CE/BILOXI, Active Rock WCPR/WIGGINS-BILOXI, MS, Classic Hip-Hop WGBL (G96.7)/GULFPORT-BILOXI, MS, Adult Hits WQBB (BOB 105.9)/PASCAGOULA, MS, and Top 40 WXYK (107.1 THE MONKEY)/GULFPORT-BILOXI, MS -- to TELESOUTH COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (NET NEWS 12/13), the filings with the FCC indicate that TELESOUTH is paying $2.5 million for the stations, a price left out of the announcement by KALIL AND CO. In addition, the spinoff mentioned by the broker in its press release has more details now, with TELESOUTH selling WXYK to PORT BROADCASTING, LLC for $300,000.
In other filings with the FCC, LIBERMAN BROADCASTING, following its filing for bankruptcy reorganization, has filed with the FCC to place its various license-holding subsidiaries into debtor-in-possession status.
Applying for STAs were TOWNSQUARE MEDIA BINGHAMTON LICENSE, LLC (WNBF-A/BINGHAMTON, NY, using daytime nondirectional tower for reduced-power nighttime use due to failed component on tower) and MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (KTWB/SIOUX FALLS, SD, reduced power due to antenna damage).
UBUNTU GREEN has filed for a Silent STA for low power FM KUGA-LP/SACRAMENTO while it builds at a new location.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has requested a Silent STA for K201IP/STERLING, CO as it moves to a new tower site.
And FAMILY STATIONS, INC. has closed on the swap of W249BD/WEST VIEW, PA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for W215CL (now W218CW)/WEST PALM BEACH, FL.
