Former radio programmer and music promoter turned audio/video whiz MIKE SCHAEFER has fired up SchaefRadio.com.
On his FACEBOOK page, SCHAEFER describes what you will hear and what you won't hear, "The music mix is a 50/50 blend of Adult Contemporary vocals - from SINATRA to ADELE - and Smooth Jazz instrumentals. There currently are over 4,700 songs in the library covering over seven decades of music.
"To all my radio friends, please bear in mind this isn't KIIS-FM I'm programming here, though the format clock is similar to one we used to get a 10-share in the summer of 1984. But, it is a station that all radio programmers dream of programming with no concern for ratings, advertisers or corporations.
"Some of you know that I was the Program/Music Director of a non-commercial radio station at THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS in MISSOURI for the past seven years. Thank you DENNIS KLAUTZER for allowing me the privilege of programming BPR and 89.3 THE COVE. With the launch of SchaefRadio.com, I'm now taking this format to a world-wide audience.
"I particularly want to pay tribute to the pioneers of the Smooth Jazz format - BOB O'CONNOR, MICHAEL S FISCHER, BERNIE KIMBLE and JOHN SEBASTIAN. The only way this format became a passion for me was by listening to 94.7 THE WAVE in LOS ANGELES for over 20 years, and working with the Jazz and Smooth Jazz record promotion reps when I worked at R&R."
Give SchaefRadio.com a listen.
