FCC Chairman Ajit Pai Again Cancels Trip To CES

For the second year in a row, FCC Chairman AJIT PAI has canceled his scheduled trip to the CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW in LAS VEGAS.

Last year, PAI canceled his trip, apparentlu due to security concerns after he received death threats; this year, MULTICHANNEL NEWS reports that the cancellation was prompted by the government shutdown.  PAI was to be interviewed in his annual "fireside chat" with CTA Pres. GARY SHAPIRO.  FCC Commissioner BRENDAN CARR is also scheduled to appear at the annual conference, but his office has yet to confirm whether he will be making the trip or whether the shutdown will also lead to his absence.
