ALPHA MEDIA/AUSTIN-ALBERT LEA, MN raised over $24,000 for THE SALVATION ARMY during its Feed a Family event. The stations teamed with the HOLIDAY INN-AUSTIN and the MARINE CORPS RESERVE to facilitate the first of an annual TOYS FOR TOTS collection event and two-holiday meal distributions that took place in AUSTIN and in ALBERT LEA. Not only did they feed 975 families, but a voucher system was put in place to continue to stock the food shelves well into the new year.
“The incredible number of donations we received this year is a true testament to the giving and caring nature of our listeners, local businesses and our communities here in AUSTIN and ALBERT LEA," ALPHA MEDIA/AUSTIN-ALBERT LEA Market Manager ROBERT MITHUEN said. "Thanks to their generosity, THE SALVATION ARMY of MOWER and FREEBORN COUNTY were able to ensure that families celebrated the holiday season with a complete holiday meal. I can't thank our on-air, sales teams, and sponsors enough for all the time and effort they put into making this annual event a complete success.”
