WESTWOOD ONE "STERLING ON SUNDAY" host WALTER STERLING often broadcasts his syndicated show from his basement laundry room, and the location led to the host doing listener's laundry.
A listener on CUMULUS News-Talk WBAP-A/DALLAS, retired AIR FORCE Sergeant LIZ THOMISON, heard STERLING talking about doing the show from the laundry room and jokingly offering to do his listeners' laundry, and sent him her military fatigues for washing. True to his word, STERLING washed and returned the fatigues, and other listeners sent laundry his way as well, which was also cleaned by "WALTER's Wash & Dry" with the help of STERLING's family.
STERLING said, “Anyone can say ‘thank you for your service.’ Real gratitude is in the spin cycle."
