Radio One, MMTC Establish John W. Jones Legal Education Fund

RADIO ONE and the MINORITY MEDIA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL are forming the JOHN W. JONES LEGAL EDUCATION FUND in memory of the company's General Counsel, who died on DECEMBER 3 at 38. The fund will allow the MMTC to train law students and new attorneys in the practice of public interest and civil rights law before the FCC.
RADIO ONE CEO/Pres. ALFRED C. LIGGINS III said that JONES "was a remarkable individual who had an amazing career in the short time he was on this earth. We will miss him dearly and hope that the creation of the Jones Fund will perpetuate his legacy for generations to come. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and friends during these very difficult days."
DOnations to the new fund may be sent to the MMTC at 3636 13th Street NW, Suite B-366, WASHINGTON, DC 20010. Checks shoudl be made payable to the "JOHN W. JONES LEGAL EDUCATION FUND."
