iHEARTMEDIA Brand Mgr./Hot AC and WKTU/NEW YORK PD ROB MILLER is leaving that post after a dozen years, and will take on a new expanded role as EVP/Hot AC Programming & Strategy, SVPP/SOUTH FLORIDA overseeing day to day operations in MIAMI-FT. LAUDERDALE, W. PALM BEACH, FORT PIERCE, FORT MYERS, NAPLES and PUNTA GORDA, effective early FEBRUARY.
MILLER's replacement in NEW YORK has not be announced, and a nationwide search will be launched.
In his new post, MILLER will report to BRIAN OLSON, Division President & Region President for iHEARTMEDIA/SOUTH FLORIDA. OLSON noted, "I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with ROB for the past 10 years on 939 MIA. He’s one of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals in our industry and I’m excited for ROB to lead our teams across SOUTH FLORIDA.”
iHEARTMEDIA Chief Programming Officer TOM POLEMAN said, "ROB has done a brilliant job programming the iconic 103.5 KTU and leading iHEARTMEDIA’s Hot AC stations. He’s one of the best programmers I know and I have tremendous confidence in his ability to now lead the programming of our SOUTH FLORIDA stations."
Commenting on his new role MILLER said, "SOUTH FLORIDA has always held a special place in my heart and MIAMI has been like a second home to me. I love the energy, diversity and pride of the city and I’m excited to lead our legendary brands and collaborate with our marquee personalities. Thank you iHEARTMEDIA - what an amazing way to celebrate my third decade in radio."
Concurrently, there is a shocker! Longtime SVPP/SOUTH FLORIDA and current Top 40 WHYI (Y100)/MIAMI PD ALEX TEAR will be vacating that post immediately. However, ALL ACCESS is hearing that TEAR is weighing some other opportunities and is expected to stay in iHEARTMEDIA. Y100 APD JOEY BROOKS will take over in the interim until a final decision is made on TEAR's day-to day programming replacement.
