WHITE ASH BROADCASTING News-Talk-Classical KVPR/FRESNO-KPRX/BAKERSFIELD (VALLEY PUBLIC RADIO) has named its studios after its late President/GM MARIAM STEPANIAN.
The renaming took place at a ceremony on SATURDAY (1/12) with the unveiling of a monument with the name "MARIAM STEPANIAN Studios" outside the studio building in CLOVIS, CA.
The station reports that current Pres./GM JOE MOORE said, “MARIAM’s dream was to build a new, state-of-the-art home for VALLEY PUBLIC RADIO. Without her determination and vision, we would not be here today in this marvelous new building. It’s a most fitting honor to have MARIAM’s name attached to this facility, as a reminder of her legacy and dedication to public radio.”
STEPANIAN ran VPR from 1983 through her passing early last year.
