The GALESBURG REGISTER-MAIL is reporting that WPW BROADCASTING Oldies-News-Talk WAIK-A/GALESBURG, IL has gone silent.

The station was not included in the recent sale by WPW of Classic Country WRAM-A, AC WMOI (SUNNY 97.7), and W231DA/MONMOUTH, IL to VANESSA WETTERLING and JASON and BRYON ROBBINS' ROBBINS-TREAT RESOURCES, LLC for $168,000 plus $45,000 for real estate.  It had been on the air since 1957 and shut down MONDAY (1/14), although notice of the station going silent and/or returning of the license to the FCC has yet to appear in the Commission's database.
