UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS (USRN) will continue to distribute the daily comedic feature, CARMEN CALLS, as well as its companion weekend daypart program, SABADO PICANTE. The multi-year deal extends a relationship that began in 2004
CARMEN started out at heritage Top 40/Rhythmic KMEL/SAN FRANCISCO; the colorful Latina originally did interviews on the morning show, but soon added “prank calls” to her repertoire. The benchmark feature was picked up by UNITED STATIONS to provide comedic content to stations in HOUSTON and SAN FRANCISCO, and eventually would add stations in NEW YORK, PHILADELPHIA, MIAMI, ORLANDO, PROVIDENCE, SAN ANTONIO and many more. Eventually, CARMEN started providing a series of voiced work parts fro a weekend morning show marketed as “Spicy Saturday.”
“Unique and entertaining content is the greatest thing we can provide to our affiliates, and in that regard, nothing tops CARMEN," UNITED STATIONS EVP/Programming ANDY DENEMARK said. "We are so happy to be extending our relationship with CARMEN well into the future.”
CARMEN added, “This whole press release is a mouthful, but then so am I!"
