Former longtime CUMULUS GRAND RAPIDS, MI rocker WKLQ – which had been broadcasting "THUNDER" Country as WTNR -- has now become a Triple A station as of 11a on SATURDAY (1/19). The station has been rebranded as Q94.5 with the slogan “It’s Different Here.”
OM LORI BENNETT will be programming Q94.5. She can be reached at (616) 456-5461. The station’s address is 60 Monroe Ctr. NW, 3rd Floor, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
This move brings with it changes in frequencies, formats and brands across the company’s 10-station group in GRAND RAPIDS and MUSKEGON, MI.
On JANUARY 4th at 6p, Country music fans found their favorite songs and hosts on two frequencies in GRAND RAPIDS, at its original home on 94.5 WTNR and on a simulcast at 107.3 WBBL. The station had also returned to its previous “Thunder Country” moniker. WBBL calls have now changed to WTNR to reflect its programing.
Sports Talk on 107.3 FM WBBL was rebranded as “The Ticket” and has moved back to its original home on AM1340 WJRW, which dropped its News Talk format, as did AM1490 WKLQ in MUSKEGON, in favor of simulcasting “The Ticket.”
