George Preston Named VP/GM At WFMT/Chicago

Former WINDOW TO THE WORLD COMMUNICATIONS Classical WFMT/CHICAGO afternoon host GEORGE PRESTON is returning to the station as VP/GM, starting MARCH 1st. PRESTON hosted WFMT's afternoon show in 2009-13 and more recently served as GM at CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN PUBLIC BROADCAST HOUSE Classical KCME and Jazz KCME-HD2-K228EM (JAZZ 93.5)/COLORADO SPRINGS. Previously, PRESTON was MD and host at NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK and MD/APD/Host at BOSTON UNIVERSITY noncommercial WBUR/BOSTON.
CEO SANDRA CORDOVA MICEK said, “GEORGE is a seasoned radio and classical music leader, and his entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and collaborative approach make him uniquely qualified to take WFMT successfully into the future.
