Minor league baseball PENSACOLA BLUE WAHOOS broadcaster TOMMY THRALL is exiting to join the CINCINNATI REDS broadcast team for the 2019 season, according to the WAHOOS' website. THRALL is being added to the REDS' broadcasts on iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI as Hall of Fame play-by-play radio voice MARTY BRENNAMAN enters his final season with the team. Meanwhile, CHRIS GARAGIOLA, grandson of the late broadcaster and CARDINALS catcher JOE GARAGIOLA, will take over as the voice of the BLUE WAHOOS; GARAGIOLA worked alongside THRALL for the past two seasons.
"We're incredibly proud of TOMMY for taking this well-deserved step in his career," said BLUE WAHOOS President JONATHAN GRIFFITH. "Since Opening Day 2012, he has been an invaluable part of our organization and we are grateful for his numerous contributions to Hoosville over the past seven seasons."
THRALL, who called QUAD CITIES RIVER BANDITS baseball before his stint in PENSACOLA, called three REDS SPRING Training games and three SEPTEMBER REDS games last season.
