Toucher & Rich, Bernie Miklasz Top Morning Show Rankings In Barrett Sports Media's Annual Sports Radio Survey

Top Morning Shows

It's time once again for sports talk consultancy BARRETT SPORTS MEDIA's annual survey to compile lists of the best in the format, and the 2018 results, from the fourth annual survey, are being released this week and next.  To start things off,  BEASLEY Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON's TOUCHER & RICH (FRED TOUCHER and RICH SHERTENLIEB) are at the top of the rankings of "Top 20 Local Sports Radio Morning Shows of 2018" for major markets (1-20), while HUBBARD Sports WXOS (101 ESPN)/ST. LOUIS' BERNIE MIKLASZ tops the mid-markets rankings (21-100).  

TOUCHER & RICH moved up from third place last year in the vote of 51 radio executives from 30 markets and 13 companies, followed in the top 5 by ENTERCOM Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK's BOOMER & GIO (BOOMER ESIASON and GREGG GIANNOTTI), CUMULUS Sports KTCK-A-F (THE TICKET)/DALLAS' THE MUSERS (GEORGE DUNHAM, CRAIG MILLER, and GORDON KEITH), ENTERCOM Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA's ANGELO CATALDI, and ENTERCOM Sports WJFK (106.7 THE FAN)/WASHINGTON's THE SPORTS JUNKIES (JOHN (CAKES) AUVILLE, ERIC (E.B.) BICKEL, JASON (LURCH) BISHOP, and JOHN-PAUL (J.P.) FLAIM).

MIKLASZ topped the mid-market list for the third straight year, followed by ENTERCOM Sports WKRK (92.3 THE FAN)/CLEVELAND's KEN CARMAN and ANTHONY LIMA, CUMULUS Sports WJOX-F/BIRMINGHAM's JOX ROUNDTABLE (LANCE TAYLOR, RYAN BROWN, and JIM DUNAWAY), ENTERCOM Sports KDKA-F (93.7 THE FAN)/PITTSBURGH's THE FAN MORNING SHOW (COLIN DUNLAP and CHRIS MACK), and CUMULUS Sports WWLS (THE SPORTS ANIMAL 98.1)/OKLAHOMA CITY's THE MORNING ANIMALS (CURTIS FITZPATRICK, CAREY MURDOCK, PHIL INZINGA, and RON (SPINOZI) BENTON).
