CUMULUS MEDIA Country KHAY/OXNARD-VENTURA, CA OM/PD CHRIS COX has announced his retirement from radio after 45 years. COX has been at KHAY since 2012 and previously worked at stations in LOS ANGELES, HOUSTON, CINCINNATI, LOUISVILLE, ANAHEIM, PALMDALE/LANCASTER, EVANSVILLE, and SOUTHERN ILLINOIS.

“It’s been an incredible journey, 45 years of doing what I love -- who gets to say that?," said COX. "I have been fortunate to work with fantastic people throughout my career, especially my good friend and mentor MIKE MCVAY, who has always been there for me. I also want to thank Market Mgr. SOMMER FRISK for her support over the last seven years in OXNARD/VENTURA. Now, I’ll have time to learn a new guitar riff. 'Smoke On The Water' is getting old.”
