ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL honored BIG LOUD's JAKE OWEN with its Randy Owen Angels Among Us on SATURDAY, JANUARY 26th during a dinner where he also performed at the PEABODY HOTEL in MEMPHIS. The dinner, where JAKE was joined by CLINT BLACK, MICHAEL RAY, and ALABAMA frontman RANDY OWEN, was the finale of the COUNTRY CARES FOR ST JUDE KIDS RADIO SEMINAR, which drew more than 900 people this year (NET NEWS 1/25).
The Angels Among Us Award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to ST. JUDE. JAKE has been a supporter of the hospital for more than 13 years by spending time with patients and their families, calling in and attending radiothons, providing auction items, and participating in the annual "DARIUS AND FRIENDS" show benefiting ST. JUDE. He also hosts an annual HOMETOWN BENEFIT in VERO BEACH, FL that raises money for ST. JUDE through his recently-created JAKE OWEN FOUNDATION. Past recipients of the award include RANDY OWEN, BRAD PAISLEY, JOHN RICH, and DARIUS RUCKER.
The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC's philanthropic arm, LIFTING LIVES, also honored OWEN that night by making a $50,000 donation to ST. JUDE in his name.

JUDE, “I just love the fact that they’re presenting a place for families to come and not have to worry anymore. They can find help here. There are so many families that don’t know what to do. They don’t know how to get answers. They don’t have the money. To be able to come to a place like this, be taken care of, be informed — I don’t find there’s anything else that’s as valuable as ST. JUDE."
