GRANT COUNTY BROADCASTERS Classic Country duo WNKN/MIDDLETOWN, OH and WNKR/WILLIAMSTOWN/DRY RIDGE, KY have added CINCINNATI market veterans JIMMY “THE WEASEL” SALZARULO and “PISTOL PETE” MILLER to their air staffs. Both were laid off from HUBBARD Country WYGY (97.3 THE WOLF)/CINCINNATI in DECEMBER (NET NEWS 12/7/18). SALZARULO did middays and production at WYGY, while MILLER handled afternoons.
“I can’t think of a better additions to our Classic Country stations,” said CLASSIC COUNTRY 105.9 & 106.7 VP/Programming & Operations PETER ZOLNOWSKI. “PISTOL PETE’s the guy who introduced our audience to the music we play back when he was on other CINCINNATI stations. His distinct voice and passion for the music make him a natural choice. JIMMY THE WEASEL’s strength is commercial production. While we’re initially using him to fill our morning news opening, we plan to put his skills to work for our valued advertisers in very short order. PISTOL PETE is presently airing in the 7-11p slot on weekdays, with more extensive exposure expected after he adapts to our environment.”
