Winners Named At International Blues Challenge Honors

The winners were announced at the 35th Annual INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE, which was held in MEMPHIS on JANUARY 22nd-26th. More than 200 acts performed at venues on BEALE STREET and the at the ORPHEUM THEATRE.
Among the winners:
Best Band Award: MS. HY-C & FRESH START
IBC’s Best Solo/Duo: JON SHAIN of NORTH CAROLINA’s TRIANGLE BLUES SOCIETY.
Gibson Guitar Award for the best band guitarist: GABE STILLMAN, representing the BILLTOWN BLUES ASSOCIATION from WILLIAMSPORT, PA
Memphis Cigar Box Guitar Award for the top solo/duo guitarist: STEVE STRONGMAN of the GRAND RIVER BLUES SOCIETY.
Lee Oskar Harmonica Award: DARRYL CARRIERE
Best Self-Produced CD: THE LITTLE RED ROOSTER BLUES BAND of the CENTRAL DELAWARE BLUES SOCIETY, Lock Up The Liquor
