Dr, FRANK A. FRANCO, the co-founder of WRFY/READING, PA, passed away SUNDAY (2/3) at his home in WYOMISSING, PA of natural causes at 93, according to an obituary in the READING EAGLE.
FRANCO, a practicing physician for 45 years, partnered with HOWARD F. REBER to create CITY BROADCASTING CO. and sign on WRFY (originally WFRF) in 1962 and also owned WRAW-A/READING and WMMB-A and WMMY-F (later WGGD)/MELBOURNE, FL. He sold WRFY and WRAW to RAGAN HENRY's EIGHT CHIEFS INC for $18.25 million in 1989 and WMMB-WGGD to CAPSTAR for $1.8 million in 1997
