The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK OWNED BROADCASTERS (NABOB) TELECOMMUNICATIONS EDUCATION/MANAGEMENT FOUNDATION and PERSONAL SELLING PRINCIPLES (PSP), have teamed for the 4th annual MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE (MSI) at ATLANTA UNIVERSITY CENTER (AUC).
It will take place JUNE 3-13. AUC member institutions CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY, MOREHOUSE COLLEGE, and SPELMAN COLLEGE will host the 10-day program.
NABOB Pres. JIM WINSTON said, "THE MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE has grown into a very effective program that produces graduates who are ready and able to perform at a very high level the day they walk into their first media sales jobs.
The NABOB FOUNDATION is proud to be a sponsor of this valuable program, which is good for the graduates and good for the media industry. I am confident that many of the future leaders and station owners in our industry will come from the MSI. Each MSI graduate will be invited to NABOB's annual FALL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE."
MOREHOUSE COLLEGE Marketing/Sales Program Coordinator DR. CASSANDRA WELLS added, “We are proud to be a sponsor of the MSI program at MOREHOUSE COLLEGE. The commitment of the presenters combined with PERSONAL SELLING PRINCIPLES efforts has prepared these candidates for successful careers in media sales. I credit JEFFREY and DANA MYERS from PERSONAL SELLING PRINCIPLES with the INSTITUTES success."
PSP Principal JEFFREY P. MYERS commented, “Together with NABOB we at PSP are proud to continuously address the needs of media sales departments by properly preparing future sellers for the ever-changing world of media sales.
Each year the MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE curriculum is enhanced to address the ever-evolving media sales process. I am very proud to have developed the MEDIA SALES INSTITUTE program. The MSI has grown into a very effective program, that is producing media sales professionals who are ready to contribute, from their start.”
Since the institute launched in 2016, 94% of the graduates have received offers to start their media sales careers. Last years 2018 class came from 10 colleges, universities, and alumni associations. There were 22 sales recruiters from media companies who took part in recruitment.
