ALL ACCESS has confirmed that longtime talk radio programmer PETER BOLGER is retiring from the OM/PD post at CUMULUS News-Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO, effective MARCH 13th.
BOLGER confirmed to ALL ACCESS the news that he will be retiring to his PORTLAND home; BOLGER told ALL ACCESS, "People who really know me know we’ve been planning a move back to Portland for many years and finally, the timing was right. I greatly appreciate MARV NYREN, TROY HANSON and MIKE MCVAY’s understanding and thank them for allowing me the privilege of captaining the Big 89!"
In an email from VP/Market Manager MARV NYREN to the staff, NYREN said, "I can not begin to tell you how appreciative I am for all (that) PETER has done for this station over the years and the recent rebuild of the on-air lineup....he has been a proponent of our medium and we will miss his calm personality and talent in the hallways."
BOLGER's 47 years in the business include stints at iHEARTMEDIA-CLEAR CHANNEL News-Talk WOAI-A and Sports KTKR-A (TICKET 760)/SAN ANTONIO, in MIAMI radio, including stops at WINZ-A, WIOD-A, and WZTA (ZETA 4), and at KGON and KSGO-A /PORTLAND.
