RON WILNER, who started his career as a radio DJ before moving into political campaign advertising for candidates like GEORGE H.W. BUSH and SPIRO AGNEW, died of cancer JANUARY 19th in TOWSON, MD at 87, reports the BALTIMORE SUN.
WILNER began in radio while at the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA's WHARTON SCHOOL, working at PENN's WXPN/PHILADELPHIA, then hosted at WASA-A/HAVRE DE GRACE, MD and WAYE-A/BALTIMORE before leaving radio in 1959 to join the ROBERT GOODMAN AGENCY, where a successful gubernatorial campaign for AGNEW in 1966 led to more political work, mostly for Republican candidates despite WILNER's personal political views being more liberal. He retired in 1992 but consulted on subsequent campaigns.
