Steve Goldstein On Spotify's Moves: Podcasting Moving Up To The Majors

AMPLIFI MEDIA's STEVE GOLDSTEIN has his take on the SPOTIFY purchase of GIMLET MEDIA and ANCHOR, and his latest blog post highlights why he thinks the deals signify the promotion of the podcasting business from the "minor leagues" to the majors.

Among GOLDSTEIN's observations is that the deal is the "first vertical integration in the business of podcasting" giving SPOTIFY its first owned original content, and will offer the industry metrics it has not been getting from other sources. And the deals, GOLDSTEIN notes, constitute "first real challenge to APPLE’s dominance in podcasting."
