The BOSTON GLOBE's CHAD FINN is reporting that the second chair on BOSTON RED SOX radio broadcasts this season, left vacant with TIM NEVERETT's exit after last season, will be occupied by a rotation of broadcasters working alongside longtime play-by-play voice JOE CASTIGLIONE, joined by a third voice for analysis.
FINN, citing "sources with knowledge of the process," lists PAWTUCKET RED SOX broadcaster WILL FLEMMING and former DETROIT TIGERS television play-by-play announcer MARIO IMPEMBA, possibly along with NESN's TOM CARON and former RED SOX TV announcer and current ESPN voice SEAN MCDONOUGH, as candidates for the second chair rotation, with flagship ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON's ROB BRADFORD and LOU MERLONI and BOSTON SPORTS JOURNAL's SEAN MCADAM up for the analyst's position.
A decision, FINN added, is expected from WEEI "in the next few days." NEVERETT exited the SOX after the WORLD SERIES and joined the LOS ANGELES DODGERS broadcast team.
